Walton Pier is the 3rd longest pier in the UK and boasts a 5-acre all-weather amusement complex including Bowling Alley, Arcade, Funfair and the usual seaside eateries. The beach is sandy and has been awarded Blue Flag status. A mile or so north of the development is the Naze itself, a nature reserve which is open to the public. It is an unspoilt headland that is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Walton town is well served with supermarkets and other High Street shops. There are 2 Primary schools in Walton, with Secondary schools in nearby Frinton and Clacton. There is a GP practice and a Dental surgery both in Walton town, and the nearest Hospital is in Colchester.
